Completing a painting isn't as easy as starting it, for most beginners.

You get excited about an idea, you grab your brush and start mixing colors, but your excitement turns into frustration somewhere half way, and suddenly you're no longer sure of what you're doing.
All you want to do is give up and start over, but the idea seems too hard now, and you don't know how to do it right...

What if you knew the recipe for a successful painting from the start? What if you could make sure your painting was going to work out before even picking up a brush?

Imagine your painting process going smoothly, from coming up with an idea to finishing touches on your canvas.

Keep scrolling if you want to know more :)
Where does frustration come from?
After having started several paintings in a row and completing zero of them - because they were all looking terribly messed up after I'd done the just the first layer, I was ready to give up painting all together, that's how disappointed I was in my skills. Thankfully, I didn't:)
The problem was that I was trying to paint intuitively, guessing what I needed to do. Without really thinking my ideas through, having no idea how to get where I wanted, and, well, having no clue of what I was doing in general.

So much for painting for pleasure :)
I was ruining a painting after a painting.

Until I read an article about composition, and had a breakthrough. There was a SYSTEM. There was an explanation and guidance on PLANNING my painting before actually starting to paint it.
Most of the successful paintings (including those that you usually like on social media) were not just improvised intuitively. They were planned and thought through by their authors, using compositional techniques, color theory, perspective & other "tricks".

The formula for a successful painting
The one, that
- makes people stop scrolling and tap on the image to see it better
- attracts and keeps viewer's attention
- keeps bringing you compliments, likes and questions "do you sell these?"
COMPOSITION
The arrangement of the elements on canvas that creates a smooth visual flow for the viewer.
VALUES
The balance between dark, medium and light areas of the composition, which allows to bring viewer's attention to specific areas
COLORS
The combination of colors and their variations that makes a painting pop and attract attention.
VOLUME
When painted objects look realistic on a flat canvas, thanks to a special painting technique.
PERSPESTIVE
Creating the illusion of realistic depth in your painting, using the methods of aerial and linear perspective.
BRUSHWORK
The unique "handwriting" that gives the finished painting an original look.
"The Joy of Oil Painting" is a step-by-step guided program, where each of these elements is explained and demonstrated.

You will learn to use all these techniques in your art and create beautiful original paintings without having to guess your way through any more.
A planned painting is
SO MUCH EASIER to paint
By thinking your composition through in advance,
planning the color palette,
deciding on the value balance,
you're saving yourself from hours of frustration at the easel, feeling lost and confused.

You will know exactly what to do on each step of the way - from the first sketch to the finishing touches.

Imagine your painting process being a pure pleasure, and the result so good, you're going to sell it :)

Meet the teacher
Hello! My name is Natalia, and I am an oil painter and instructor.
I am convinced that anybody - absolutely anybody - can learn to paint.
Even better - anybody can learn to paint WELL.

I'm a true believer in practice, not in "talent".
Just like most of my students, I learned to paint at home, studying theory and spending countless hours practicing.
It took me a while to figure out how to make the process smoother and easier. I've learned to break down the whole process into several understandable stages. Just as any goal or task can be broken down into a few easier steps, I use that system to teach my students how to get to a desired result in painting.

I think of myself not even as much as a teacher, but rather that kid in class, that explains to the others what the teacher says, in words that others can easily understand and digest :)

You can do more than you think
I know what it's like looking at other people's paintings and thinking "wow, I'll never be THAT good".
Maybe not! But by practicing, we get better than we are today, and that's guaranteed.

You have the same odds of becoming that person who's paintings make other beginners a little jealous, as anyone else, who just puts a little effort in.

Only those who don't try, don't make progress. Only those who postpone things every day, don't get anything done.

I've been where you are, and I created this course for people like you. And I'll be there for you, every step of the way!
Some of the FAQ for you
Can I do it with acrylics?
YES, you can. I personally choose oils, because they're truly the most flexible and forgiving media there is, but half of my students stick to acrylics and the process is super similar, so no problem at all.
Aren't oils too difficult for beginners? I've never tried them
Oils take a while to dry, which allows you to correct ANYTHING on your canvas without having to start over. They're incredibly beginner friendly, and you'll see that once you try.
I heard oils are smelly, I'm afraid of using them at home
Paints do not smell (they are made of a pigment + linseed oil). What smells is the old school paint thinners like turpentine and white spirit. They are not necessary and easily replaceable with just linseed oil or modern odourless thinners.
My schedule is packed, what if I don't have time to follow the course?
Once you sign up, even on a cheapest plan you get 12 months access to course contents. Each lesson is averagely 1 hour long. Everything is pre-recorded and there are no deadlines, you follow on your own pace. Even if you do 1 lesson a month, you'll have extra time!
Will you give feedback on my work?
Absolutely yes. On a "Guided" plan you get unlimited Q&A, I'm always there for you to help you with whatever struggle you have, plus after you submit your work, you get detailed feedback with suggestions on how you can improve (if that's the case:)
Is there a list of necessary supplies for the course?
Yes there is :) The first lesson includes an overview of all the things you're going to need throughout the course. There's also a demonstration of how to use the oils, if you've never tried them.
